Andrea, the main character, is studying violin several years so far. He doesn't live anymore in his hometown, Trieste. He misses it a lot, especially the sea. Michele instead is leaving for Taranto. He's going to frequent a navy military school. Andrea is a little disappointed, and his future is uncertain. He also lost a little of his passion. Michele is still positive about the future, but he understand his friend. The two of them talk about themselves, about this thoughts, walking down the old town streets, that bring them right to the sea.
